            This week’s painting is based on photos I took of a beautiful west coast beach near sunset. Most of the visitors had gone home and it looked lovely...very quiet and peaceful and maybe a little bit lonely. It reminds me of what a college campus looks after the semester ends. At that point, the students are gone, the campus is quiet and looks beautiful and peaceful....and just a little bit lonely waiting for our youngest inhabitants to return again.

This week I want to share an excerpt from a poem by Pablo Neruda that really fits what “The Path Forward” means to me. “You start dying slowly if you do not change your life when you are not satisfied with ....your love, if you do not risk what is safe for what is uncertain, if you do not go after a dream, if you do not allow yourself, at least once in your lifetime, to run away from sensible advice... This is my idea of great directions for a path forward!
