For example, ally vs. enemy, friend vs. foe, victim vs. aggressor, endangered plant vs. weed. For example, if I tell you I’ve painted weeds, you might wonder why. If I tell you I’ve painted an endangered plant species, you might value what I’ve created a little more. I wish sometimes that we did a little less judging and a little more appreciating. Ever since I was a child, clouds have excited my imagination. I could see so many things in the sky above. Now, they also inspire awe and delight as they put on their daily show of color and beauty. I have friends who will comment approvingly, “Look at that! Not a cloud in the sky!” I will respond sadly, “Yes, not a cloud in the sky” as I search desperately for clouds in the distance preparing to present me with aerial shows of gorgeous color and forms that could be people or dogs – there’s always at least one dog to be seen in clouds. In this painting, I see maybe a happy dog smiling in the middle or maybe a parent cloud running after that smaller cloud on the left, who couldn’t resist chasing after that ball of light in the sky. I’ve been focused on creating larger paintings lately and also on painting skies – particularly blue skies since we haven’t seen much of those during a week of rainy days. This was a scene that caught my eye when I was out west. I was by the shore, and saw all the gorgeous greenery covering this sandy cliff and the rather steep path winding down to a small beach below. With the blue skies above and that beautiful turquoise sea below I had to paint this scene. When I look at this, I can still hear the call of gulls and the smell of salt in the cool breeze.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"> Happy Weekend!<o:p></o:p></p><p> </p>Sharon Lewishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01815920005026403702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4348304940677960334.post-41012999969370330932024-01-19T21:00:00.004-05:002024-01-20T11:24:27.924-05:00Bridging the Divide<p></p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisAg86ZROqpEjiw2beVNZa81qYvHYN1FUiTL-jqaZ0e3c0GoPZ4MXlVdsE0DpXM6fN_qMn6BODj4Qw3oEdxOrKymFp6SBKuMraLxGBAoHx1g67NTbcnKYWnv7JXWnMoPqRls0vTVdDbVwMw2lpFjfKYeAqtauY8STknp7hK4ZOTotabrpqTbkvtAmhjTSg/s2165/IMG_2473.jpeg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1430" data-original-width="2165" height="422" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisAg86ZROqpEjiw2beVNZa81qYvHYN1FUiTL-jqaZ0e3c0GoPZ4MXlVdsE0DpXM6fN_qMn6BODj4Qw3oEdxOrKymFp6SBKuMraLxGBAoHx1g67NTbcnKYWnv7JXWnMoPqRls0vTVdDbVwMw2lpFjfKYeAqtauY8STknp7hK4ZOTotabrpqTbkvtAmhjTSg/w640-h422/IMG_2473.jpeg" width="640" /></a></td></tr></tbody></table><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"> “Bridging the Divide” 12” x 18” Pastel $430 © Sharon Lewis</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: center;">Click <u><a href="https://www.dailypaintworks.com/fineart/sharon-lewis/bridging-the-divide/1102979" target="_blank">Here </a></u>to Purchase</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td></tr></tbody></table><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"> I love how beautifully clouds can sweep across the sky out west. I would have loved to have stayed longer in this serene and beautiful location!<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"><o:p></o:p></p><p><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif;">Happy Weekend!</span> </p>Sharon Lewishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01815920005026403702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4348304940677960334.post-91105848565603086972023-10-06T21:05:00.003-04:002023-10-07T11:44:53.717-04:00The Early Birds Get the Sunrise<p></p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9EkwKv6ywk17nRe7Lz_gnByX_Gqtlr65v6Mxf67hrqRZfYdXfjnHcgmhsoupV2HdkhpqJ43na4MldvjHJEfCO9ub-NmrG8XxOxVyxxGBDSRaPSkB0RhHC6QnWW4VxWuyGYDaZTXLSz7qMKqerAhyphenhyphenGUJAyhh3hyLHXlAbe7EDgYYcU8D0FN92YsH0euM0v/s2695/IMG_1474.jpeg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2695" data-original-width="2008" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9EkwKv6ywk17nRe7Lz_gnByX_Gqtlr65v6Mxf67hrqRZfYdXfjnHcgmhsoupV2HdkhpqJ43na4MldvjHJEfCO9ub-NmrG8XxOxVyxxGBDSRaPSkB0RhHC6QnWW4VxWuyGYDaZTXLSz7qMKqerAhyphenhyphenGUJAyhh3hyLHXlAbe7EDgYYcU8D0FN92YsH0euM0v/w476-h640/IMG_1474.jpeg" width="476" /></a></td></tr></tbody></table><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: center;"> “The Early Birds Get the Sunrise” 12” x 9” Pastel $100 © Sharon Lewis<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in; text-align: center;">Click <a href="https://www.dailypaintworks.com/fineart/sharon-lewis/the-early-birds-get-the-sunrise/1086882" target="_blank"><u>Here</u> </a>to Purchase</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td></tr></tbody></table><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"> I love to sleep in in the morning and I love the colors of a beautiful sunrise. It’s a wonderful, warm light that makes everything glow and appear more beautiful than earlier, in the full light of day. It’s that “je ne sais quoi”; that elusive quality in the light that although I can’t fully describe it, makes me stop just to watch how magnificently the setting sun transforms the landscape.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; margin: 0in;"> Happy Weekend!<o:p></o:p></p><p> </p>Sharon Lewishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01815920005026403702noreply@blogger.com0
