When the tide goes out in the Mt.
Desert Narrows in Bar Harbor, a long sandbar is temporarily exposed which
people quickly take advantage of. There’s something cool about walking along
this long, narrow stretch of sand, exploring what the tide’s left behind. It’s
also a bit exciting in that if you get too caught up in exploring the island and
ignore the incoming tide you will find yourself stranded for hours, waiting for
the next tide to recede.
