I am a self-taught landscape and still life artist who was born in Chicago, grew up in southern Florida, and now live in the Atlanta area. It seems that I cannot remember a time when I didn't love to draw and paint. I credit my maternal grandfather with exposing me to the wonder of line and color. I can still remember how amazing it was when, with a few strokes, he would sketch the recognizable profile of a person. It was absolutely magical to me!
I work primarily in pastels because from the time that I
first used them successfully, they seemed to represent the perfect marriage of
line and color. You can both draw and paint with pastels, creating either quick
studies or high quality, luminous paintings.
I love traveling and the natural environment and thus
that's for the most part, what I paint. I am especially attracted to the play
of light on the landscape and to almost anything colorful. So, if you love
interesting, beautiful places and objects, I invite you to follow along on my
blog as I share nature's beauty from around the world.
