Something
about the rhythm of the waves rolling in and back out again can be comforting.
When we get distressed, our breathing becomes more shallow and rapid. When we
stop and listen to the rhythms of nature like the rise and fall of the waves,
our breathing slows and we calm down. I’m grateful for the sounds of nature
like this, as well as the joyful sounds of spring I hear from all the birds outside
my window.
