I borrowed today’s painting title from a great poem by
John Masefield, called Sea Fever It just seemed to match the mood of this
painting. It starts with such a lyrical phrase: “I must go down to the seas
again, to the lonely sea and the sky”.
Imagine
the feel of the wind and the salty spray, and the sounds of the gulls crying
and the waves crashing on the rocks. As
you look out over the water, you see all the colors of the fading sun.
Masefield’s
poem ends with a wish for: “…And quiet
sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.”
Wishing you a quiet sleep and sweet dreams.
