Several summers ago, we took a leisurely
train trip up to Rochers-de-Naye, Switzerland. This painting is of a view I photographed as
we traveled to this absolutely gorgeous place. At the peak, which is 2000
metres (6,562 ft.) high, we looked at the various marmot species they have up
there (a kind of small marmot zoo) and hiked in the cool, sunny weather. Although
there were other people up there, it was a quiet, peaceful place.
