Sometimes,
in spite of our best efforts, our lives can feel
like we’re floundering in storm-tossed seas. I’ve seen this recently in some of
my hard-working students. They’re dealing with the stress of final exams and
papers and projects due, and then a friend has a crisis. These kind students
drop everything to help and then find themselves overwhelmed with the
additional stress. Sometimes, we may be hardy souls, strong and courageous, but
we flounder and it is then that a lifeline tossed by friends, family, or a
mentor can make a difference. During these long, dark nights of winter, look
out for those floundering and toss them a lifeline in the form of a hug, smile,
or encouraging words.
Happy
Weekend!
How lovely Sharon, often people need lifelines, a little encouragement or support (especially this time of year)... but may never ask for it. So it’s definitely important that we look out for signs and reach out to those we love. Such a beautiful painting to serve as a reminder also.
