The basis for this painting comes
from a reference photo I took while staying briefly at a place called the Cameron House near Balloch, Scotland. Stepping outside of this luxurious hotel is
the beautiful Loch Lomond, green rolling hills, and magnificent views no matter
where you look. Looking across the lake,
you might see a view something like this.

What a great
location for a home! Your house nestled in the lee of these mountains and looking
out over green meadows, sprinkled with yellow flowers.....not a bad location.
Spring will be here before we know it!

Halcyon Days
“Halcyon Days” Pastel
5” x 7” $50 © Sharon Lewis Click Here to Purchase |
I enjoy
painting hay bales for some reason. I don’t know if it’s because of some romantic
notion of farm life or I’m drawn to the shapes and colors, or maybe even
because it usually signals (hopefully), the end of warm, humid weather.
Whatever the reason, this scene just seems peaceful and serene to me, something
I always value in a landscape.
Happy
Weekend!
